Department of Math & Science

The Department of Mathematics and Science offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology, Math, and Environmental Science. We also offer Associate degrees in Biology, Laboratory Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources – Range Ecology, Pre-forestry, Radiation Protection, and Science, as well as a certificate in Environmental Monitoring. Many of the courses in the associate programs are designed to transfer to four-year programs, either here at Northern or other colleges and universities.

Department News: The Los Alamos National Laboratory Foundation Board of Directors has awarded Northern New Mexico College Math Center $15,000.00 from the Educational Outreach – STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) grant to support  Science Projects, Computer Simulations and Seminars for STEM students. Projects are provided and presented by faculty members Claudia Aprea and Charles Knight and two students: Ben Baros and Gregg Padilla. This project serves students during the 2011-2012 Academic year.
